Some photos I snapped with my phone during our trip to Ireland!
We brought my cameras too! We’ve taken tons of photos with them, and once I edit our faves I’ll post some of those too. 😉

Waiting at O’hare international airport in Chicago for our flight. This is a pretty hoppin’ place! >> And a big thank you to our sister Ashley, and her friend Ellen, for bringing us here!

After 4 hours of waiting, and a 30 minute delay on our flight, we are finally on the plane! I’m super nervous – I hate flying! Alex is pretty calm though, as usual.

Waiting in Iceland to board our next flight.

And we’re off!

Hello Dublin! ☘️🇮🇪💚

Cool restaurant I found to show my sister and Ryan. I will be taking a photo with my nice camera tomorrow – because it’s cool!

Our first hotel in Dublin, Staunton’s on the Green. I love our room! It’s so charming and pretty. I’m glad we chose this place.

We went to Ireland – and went to Friday’s. Haha! We hadn’t eaten in 22 hours and some comfort food from home was calling our names. It was good, as usual. 😉

After dinner we did some exploring. This is such a neat city. So many cool buildings and things to see.

Quick breakfast before exploring the city and then heading to our next destination. 🙂

This is the mall in Dublin. The MALL. Rivertown needs to step it up.

More pics from our time exploring Dublin coming soon! I took them with my ‘big girl camera’ and have to edit them.
Heading out of the city! Driving in the country is SO much better. It’s not completely terrifying the entire time. 😉

We stopped at Glendalough on the way to Kilkenny. It was pretty incredible. Amazing to be near structures that have stood so long against the test of time.

Then we were hungry. 😁

Along the way we stopped off at one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. Also, there were sheep. Everywhere. It was amazing!

At our first Airbnb cottage! It’s super cute, and the property has animals all over. We were greeted by two pups as soon as we pulled in, and a few minutes later another dog and a few cats came to say hi. Can’t wait to take pics tomorrow. 🙂

Visited Jerpoint Abbey today. It was another incredible experience. There is so much history here, it’s pretty amazing. I’ll share more photos later!

Stopped in the town of Inistioge. Super cute place!

Then we visited Woostock Gardens. Soooo pretty here. I’d love to see it in the summer. 🙂

He HATES doing kiss pictures. But he loves me. 🙂 So once in awhile he will. 😉
Now back to Kilkenny! There is so much to see and do – and we only drove down a narrow pedestrian path that was blocked on the other end so we had to back out while trying not to hit a concrete wall and other cars once. So all in all, good day! 😁

Dinner time! I meant to take a pic of our dinner, not just our garlic bread app…but we were super hungry. No lunch + 14,000 steps = ravenous us.

We went grocery shopping for snacks. These amazing chocolate bars are $5 at home. 😑

The escalator has no stairs. As insignificant as this change seems, this was weird to ride.

Today was insanely busy – but fun. We were out exploring for 11 hours. 🙂

We are off to bed. See you all tomorrow! 🙂
Said goodbye to this beautiful place today.

This is our little friend Bo. He was the sweetest dog! Came to say ‘Hi’ every morning – and every time we stepped outside. 🙂 We will miss him!

I liked this wall in Waterford. 😉
Aaaannnnddd … another super cute town. 🙂

Another beautiful stop along the way. This place was another favorite of mine.

We had a fun stop in Cobh. 🙂

I saw these these rainbow houses on Instagram, and wanted to photograph them SO bad. So I did! 😉

A beautiful country road.

Stopped in Kinsale for dinner, and had fish & chips at Dino’s.

We’re off to bed now. Today was another great day! 🙂
This is the super cute tiny cottage we stayed at in Kinsale. We loved it here!

This is our new best friend Raffy! She’s so sweet. She loved pets and having us throw the ball for her – but then didn’t want to give it back. 😂

And our ‘backyard’ for the day. Wow.

Stopped in Cahir for breakfast and to visit a castle. 🙂

Alex tried tea. 😉

After that we went to the rock of Cashel. It was pretty incredible.

Our hotel is gorgeous! We love it here. 🙂

We arrived at our next hotel room and stepped out on the balcony just in time to see this. I can’t believe it! The pics are a bit grainy, because the sun was almost completely down, but I’m so glad we grabbed the cameras and started shooting! 🙂

Less exciting than the super cool deer, but this is our room. 🙂

A little nighttime exploring around Killarney. This is my favorite city thus far. I love everything here. 🙂

Another beautiful day! Today we visited Muckross Abbey, Torc Waterfall, Kenmare, Ross Castle, and then back to the hotel to walk around a bit.

So pretty! Loved this road.

Alex was super excited for Torc Waterfall. It was one of the places he really wanted to visit. So glad we got to see it!

The drive to Kenmare was insanely beautiful.

Dinner time!

A quick stop at Ross Castle.

Went for a little ‘sunset’ stroll around our hotel. We love it here. If we come back to Ireland someday – which we would love – we are definitely staying here again. If anyone is going to Ireland soon, it’s called The Lake Hotel in Killarney. Stay here! And rent a lakeside room on the top floor. 😉

Well I am off to bed. I’ve been lucky enough to catch a cold on this trip and I need sleep. Hopefully I feel better tomorrow. We’re visiting The Cliffs of Moher and The Burren. 🙂
…..
Breakfast with a view!

It was super windy today, so we decided to move our cliffs visit to tomorrow.
Muckross house it is then!

Our hotel in Galway.

Only 3 days left! I’m super excited for our adventures tomorrow!
Today was pretty great! First we did a quick photoshoot in The Burren.

Then we visited the Cliffs of Moher. They were as beautiful as we imagined.

Then we drove a bit of the Wild Atlantic Way. I loved this – stopping off randomly at all these beautiful spots. So fun!

There was some weird guy behind me watching me selfie …
Before this trip Alex had never been to the ocean, so we made sure he got to go ‘in’. 🙂

Cow crossing!

Dinner and a little exploring in Galway.

And that’s it for today! One more day of fun before we head home.
Our last day! Had breakfast in Galway and then visited the Cathedral. I’ll add pics of that later – just know that it was GORGEOUS.
Heading back to Dublin!

The first thing we did was visit the St. Patrick’s Cathedral. It was such a beautiful and amazing place to be.

Then we had lunch at Dollards & Co. It’s a cute place! Reminds me of Martha’s Vineyard downtown. 🙂

One more walk around Dublin, and a stop for gelato, before we head to our hotel. 🙂

One more dinner date before we go. The Friday’s next to our hotel was open 24 hours, so we went there. And we finally had a drink together! 😉

Well, we are off to bed now. We have an early morning tomorrow. 🙂
Waiting at the airport to go home! We miss our babies soooo much. And our family and friends. 🙂 Our first flight was delayed 3 hours. Luckily we had a 5 hour layover for our next flight. Hopefully we make it to that one in time.

So sad news – our flight was cancelled. After the 3 hour delay, all of us boarding the plane, sitting on the plane for 3 hours in intense heat because the A/C was broken and they were trying to fix it and we weren’t allowed to de-plane unless the flight was cancelled, they ended up having some issue with the engine and the flight was cancelled. So we all had to get off, pick up our luggage, go through customs again, wait in line for an hour in a basement waiting area just to be told that we were staying in a hotel and would receive emails about our flight arrangements. Now, I was super upset at the time because I just wanted to get home to my babies, but this was really a blessing in disguise. I prayed for a safe flight and there was something wrong with the plane, so better to find out now than in the air!

So we got up the next morning and everything was on time. We were going home!

We made it to our stopover in Iceland!

There we grabbed lunch, looked at the shops, and waited for our last flight.

I really wanted this unicorn chocolate bar – but I didn’t need it. So I settled for a picture. 😉

Bye bye Iceland!

Our plane came complete with the northern lights!

Got to see Greenland on the way – that was cool!

And now we are home! A big thank you to my mom and sister for picking us up in Chicago. 🙂
Sooooo happy to see our babies. We missed them so much.

This trip was such an amazing experience. We both feel so lucky to be able to have visited such a beautiful place. Can’t wait to share some of the pics we took with our nice cameras soon!
